Wealth is not measured by your income, it's measured by your net worth.

I don't care if you're a doctor making 200k a year, or a schoolteacher making 50k a year. What's your net worth?

Your net worth is a direct reflection of how much passive income you're making every single month without having to work. Yeah, being a doctor making 200k a year sounds wonderful, but if you have no assets you have no net worth. The second you stop going to work, the paycheck is gone and you'll have absolutely nothing to show for it.

I would take the schoolteacher making 50k a year on my team any day of the week if they're living off of 40k and using the additional 10k as a down payment to buy a real estate asset over the doctor who is making 200k a year but spending 220k to have the nice car, the nice boat, the fancy house but is secretly living off of credit. That schoolteacher making 50k a year is going to have 10 properties in 10 years and is not going to need a job anymore for the rest of their life because they’re going to be too busy collecting their monthly rent, while the doctor is still busting their behind at their job every single day just to keep up their appearance.

I don’t know who needs to hear this but it’s OKAY if you don’t have the newest Mercedes to drive. Its OKAY if you don’t have a 5 thousand square foot house. No one cares. And if they care, they’re probably not the people you should have in your life. This doesn’t mean we shouldn’t be striving to have those things… it means we shouldn’t be jeopardizing our future net worth for it, unless we want to work every day of our lives till we're 65 years old and retire on social security. #FinancialFreedom
